Personalized action plan to combat university dropout

Each university will prepare a personalized action plan, designed specifically for students at risk, to offer them concrete support and effective solutions, said the Minister of Education, Ligia Deca. The statement comes after the Social Dialogue Commission approved the draft decision for the organization and financing of the National Program for Reducing University Dropout. According to the minister: "We continue to work so that every young person has the chance to follow their dream at university and graduate successfully. Today, the draft decision for the organization and financing of the National Program for Reducing University Dropout, provided for in the new Law on Higher Education, was approved by the Social Dialogue Commission of the Ministry of Education. (...) I would like to remind you that each university will prepare a personalized action plan, designed specifically for students at risk, to offer them concrete support and effective solutions".

The program supports the transition from high school to college, including through the implementation of dual higher education, reducing barriers that are not related to their potential, finances and supports career counseling and guidance centers, integrates into the teaching staff's norm dedicated activities to support students in understanding the subject and overcoming learning difficulties. The program also creates opportunities for re-enrollment in college for students who have dropped out, through "Second Chance" programs, and will develop a monitoring system that will identify the risk of dropout in advance and propose adapted solutions.
